About Us

The mission of the Evansville Audubon Society is to promote the awareness of and appreciation for birds and other wildlife and their habitats through education and conservation.

The Evansville Audubon Society (EAS) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society and has proudly served the tri-state area since our incorporation in 1971.  Our mission is to promote the awareness of and appreciation for birds and other wildlife and their habitats through education and conservation.

To achieve our mission our members and volunteers actively engage in numerous educational and conservation projects that address the environmental issues facing our local and regional communities.  As examples of active involvement, our members present programs, lead hikes, assist in sponsoring events, visit classrooms at local schools, and volunteer for community events (e.g. trash pick up in our neighborhoods and parks).

Additionally, we provide education and conservation grants annually to other non-profit organizations or individuals we feel represent and reflect our mission.  The donations we receive are essential to achieve our mission, so we thank all our donors for supporting the activities of our chapter.
